Data we collect

When you submit the contact form we process your name, email address, optional engagement preferences, preferred call date, fiscal year-end note, and message content. Server logs may record IP address, browser type, and pages visited. Cookie-related data is described in our cookie policy.

Purposes and legal bases

We process inquiry data to respond to your request and, where relevant, to prepare an engagement proposal. We process limited analytics data (if accepted) to understand which Field Notes and engagement pages are useful. Bases include steps prior to contract, legitimate interests in operating a professional practice website, and consent where required for non-essential cookies.

Retention

Contact form records are kept up to twenty-four months if no engagement follows, unless a longer period is required to establish or defend a legal claim. If you become a client, retention follows the engagement letter and applicable archival duties for audit documentation, which may extend many years beyond the reporting period.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may use hosting and email providers acting as processors under instruction. Where a group auditor or lender is involved in an engagement, sharing of personal data occurs under the engagement terms and only as needed for the work.

International transfers

Our practice is based in Japan. If you contact us from abroad, or if an engagement requires correspondence with overseas group auditors, personal data may be transferred outside Japan with appropriate contractual and confidentiality safeguards.

Your rights

Subject to Japanese law and professional secrecy limits, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal data we hold about you as a website inquirer, and you may withdraw cookie consent for optional cookies.
